Abstract
A nano-coated polymeric antimicrobial film including a polymer and a metallic glassy powder coating on the polymer. The polymer includes a polymeric material selected from a virgin linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), a plastic solid waste (PSW), and a bio-based plastic. The metallic glassy powder is selected from the group consisting of Cu\₅₃Zr\₂₅.₅Nb\₁₂.₆Ni\₈.₃, CuZn\₅Zr\₂₅Nb\₁₄Ni\₇, Cu\₄₈Ti\₁₇Ni\₂Zr\₂₅Ag\₂, and Cu\₆₉SUS316L\₁₀/Ag\₅. The resulting nano-coated polymeric antimicrobial film has anti-microbial protective effects and may be applied to surfaces where antimicrobial activity is desired.
