Background: ‘SWEET’ is an acronym derived from ‘Better control in Pediatric and Adolescent diabeteS: Working to crEate CEnTers of Reference’. The SWEET network aims to improve secondary prevention, diagnosis and control of diabetes in children and adolescents by supporting the development of Centers of Reference (CoRs) for pediatric and adolescent diabetes globally. Creating CoRs help evaluate and compare clinical outcome parameters, diabetes care and treatment within diabetes centers internationally to optimize diabetes management.
