Abstract English

The detection of pathogenic microorganisms and antibiotic residues in food animals, with a specific focus on poultry, particularly chicken. This issue has garnered international attention due to its far-reaching implications for human health. The simultaneous emergence of numerous pathogenic bacterial strains associated with various diseases, alongside the rise of antibiotic resistance facilitated by the accumulation of antibiotic residues, poses a profound threat to public health. Mitigating these concerns necessitates effective strategies to control pathogenic bacteria and implement early detection mechanisms for antibiotic residues. The presence of antibiotic residues in food animals assumes alarming significance, given their potential adverse effects on human health. These encompass the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, allergic reactions, and the manifestation of acute or chronic health repercussions resulting from the consumption of these chemical agents. These issues, stemming from the improper administration and storage of veterinary drugs, engender the accumulation of drug residues within animal tissues and eggs, thereby endangering human health. Consequently, the primary objective of this study is two-fold: to identify strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria specific to targeted veterinary drugs and to ascertain the prevalence of antibiotic residues in chicken meat intended for human consumption across Kuwait. The proposed research methodology adopts a multifaceted approach, encompassing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) techniques to screen a diverse array of seasonal fresh chicken samples for antibiotic residue presence. Simultaneously, through Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), the study seeks to identify antibiotic-resistant organi
